The discord between Islam and Western culture seems to be, in part, due to the inability of artists and disseminators of Islamic thought to depict their spiritual leader. In Christian culture, the branding or idolatry of religious figures is very pronounced and so Christians follow the fallacy of composition: “what is the same for me, must be the same for others elsewhere”. This film called “The Message” attempts to depict Mohammed’s life through 2nd person narrative. He is respectfully absent in both voice and visual representation. It’s a good start in understanding the religion perhaps, although does something of a depiction of Mohammed. Lots of learning to be had if you can find this film online etc.
