McCain’s VP choice was a major surprise but is in equal measure a major gamble. Palin will have to clear a variety of hurdles to win acceptance of the non-Republican independents. Also it will provide political scientists with additional emperical evidence regarding a politician’s identity & voting behaviour; will women vote for McCain & his female running mate?
