On Economic Recovery
Economic growth was noticeable by mid-1982. There was marked success against inflation during this period. Thatcher does not believe that the level of unemployment was related to the extent of trade union powers. The unions had priced many of their members out of jobs by demanding excessive wages for insufficient output, so making British goods uncompetitive. Thatcher does not like the way trade union leaders lie to their members and manipulate information about her government. Thatcher was pushing to reduce their influence by legislating open ballots for industrial striking for example. It is much easier to prepare for an election in government because you have access to all information and statistical data that would help shape the appropriate policies.
Forget Your Fingers
The mouse should be our eyes when we are using computers. Instead of touching the screen, the relationships should be managed by the retina’s location on the screen. This seems to be a sensible move since marketers are constantly trying to find out which part of a website is most attractive and why. In the next decade, market research on where eyes move on a computer screen will bring consumers and brands to a 1 to 1 relationship. The camera on most computers will be able to track our eye movements so that there is a seamless dialogue between the computer and the user. As a means of navigating a computer, using the position of the eyes is a sensible way forward instead of the using fingers to control our relationship with computers.

Virtual Seating: Experience Barcelona FC in the Comfort Of Your Home
The idea of virtual reality through programs like Second Life has been around for sometime. The merging of the virtual, and the real will be increasingly important in the mid-21st century. Business meetings could be conducted in a virtual setting. The ONLY problem with these ideas are not whether it can be done, but whether it should be done. By making business meetings virtual, people will not have the excuse of traveling to Hong Kong for a weekend trip.
Why aren’t all subways/undergrounds automated? Unions. There is an ongoing struggle between innovation, and forces for the status quo across the political spectrum. The real experience is going to be better than the virtual for a long time to come, and it should be protected as the authentic reality. If you want to invest in virtual reality, front row seats at a Barca game might be cool. The real experience is something you can’t easily replicate.
